i tried out 2 guestbook widgets today, and neither wanted to work.. i don’t know.. is it just me or is php so gay?! i frikin hate how it comes up with errors every so often, everytime i edit something. grrrz

after studying and working out where the hell did my web space all get chopped up, i’ve made alot of changes. the old pocoyo blog is gone, along with the final fantasy guild website, and the different layouts i had hidden, and the avatars and banners i had, which were just sitting there taking up valuable space. after i backed up the whole site, i’m back to 75mb out of possible 100mb… i should really get an upgrade. wheres twirp?!

i’ve also started dishing out the freebies, such as this lovely cookie – i mean signature:

i’ve started dad’s blue-print project, and a sneaky peak shall be coming soon! its really interesting, i’m using so many features of photoshop i don’t normally use, its awesome <3

i’ve had alot of feedback regarding the blog/website, heres a little highlight of the main points:

• add ‘tips’ to the request forms, instead of a long and chunky webpage. it will unclutter things
• start off with free graphics then move into paid work – double the viewing rates before considering anything else
• establish a community and pull other sources to spice up the blog
• kill the long loading time (omg how? i’m still looking for solutions – if anyone reading this knows how that can be achieved, please do tell me!! thx)
• expand the gallery
  • include web-design previews/downloads
  • avatars!! – i’ve got so many to upload!
  • texture mods – “i know this is something you can definately do” yes – i know, i will get on to it once i finish dad’s blueprint project
• tutorials/links to useful tutorials
• expand affiliates list and get referenced.

okay to end this post, heres something i’ve entered in flyforfame website signature competition (and won!):

i’ve discovered that adding any additional widgets linking facebook, twitter and any other form of rubbish seem to slow down the loading speed of the pages, crippling it… to be exact. i’ve experimented with many different types of rating systems, linking, bookmarking plugins, but in all honesty… they just clutter the design and slow down everything..for now, its a big fat NO!

i’ve reinstalled the gallery system, so now the pages load smoothly and without any form of errors – as that design i used few days ago had caused… apparently it couldn’t recognise pages, and when i reverted the blog, it went boom.. so yeah ._. i’m still learning.

custom login and the donation buttons have been disabled too, as for now i’m working on updating the website.. and would be pointless. dad has also plunged a photoshop project he needs for work, so i’ll be juggling this website and getting his project finished.

The wordpress design is currently on hold, as i want to do a few tutorials before pulling out the big guns -even though i love extreme challenges, this time i want to learn the basics, get those firmly figured out, then jump into the deep water.

i’ve also disected some free-to-download wordpress designs with an image slide show – i really want the new design to have an image slideshow… its really important ya know? – though it still needs translation… jquery looks ugly and complicated >.<

thats it for now, i’ve spent the whole day in the library doing work, i just hope my efforts don’t go down the drain – i’m really stressed.

i’ve added a new theme, currently something i am still studying to figure out how it all works and fits together (curtosy of http://www.zy.sg/ *cough* edit: it has sprouted errors all over the site so i took it off  >_>) its really fascinating i take it back lol..

i’ve also added some new forms for you guys to use when you contact me to either order or just to blarg @ me.

i’ve updated the gallery section, and earlier this week i had an e-commerce plugin installed – which i’ve scrapped for now since the forms i’ve made are alot more clean and organised.

i’ve almost finished the main design for the new layout for this website, however it looks like its going to be extremely challenging to script and make it work (it has so many features – its probably the most difficult piece of work i’ve ever encountered…)but yeah, as i promised, i’m working to make this place even better, so keep checking back for more of my n4b updates!

this week has been awesomely profiting, i feel like i’ve learned so much!

i’m also working on an awesome new theme – but since i’m new to wordpress, this will probably be the longest piece of work this summer (though i do hope that it won’t be, we’ll just see)

i’m finally learning the propper php coding and i’ll also have a go at jquery to help me get a better idea of wtf is going on with the wordpress themes. hopefully this summer will be a massive learning curve from the usual photoshop, and concentrating more on scripting and website coding.
